New AMD AM5 boards feature server-grade PCBs, Wi-Fi 7, and PCIe Gen 5 storage support.

The MPG B850 CARBON MAX WIFI positions itself as a high-end option with server-grade PCB construction and enhanced thermal management via pipe aluminum heatsinks. It supports PCIe Gen 5 storage, full-speed Wi-Fi 7, and 5G LAN connectivity. The board also includes front-panel USB-C at 20 Gbps, EZ PCIe quick-release for easy GPU installation, and the EZ M.2 Shield Frozr II for SSD cooling.

The MAG B850M MORTAR MAX WIFI W serves as a white variant of the recently launched B850 Mortar MAX model. It features an all-white aesthetic with extended heatsinks and the same EZ M.2 Shield Frozr II technology. This board is positioned below the MPG B850M EDGE TI MAX WIFI in MSI's lineup, offering a more accessible option without sacrificing core connectivity like Wi-Fi 7 and 5G LAN.

Both motherboards are designed for AMD AM5 sockets, supporting 7000 and 8000 series processors. Built on the AMD B850 chipset, these boards deliver robust feature sets including PCIe Gen 5 support and high-speed networking. Pricing and release information for both motherboards have not been announced by MSI as of now.
