Lenovo has updated its ThinkPad T14 laptop with a completely new chassis design for the Gen 7 model. The changes mark a departure from the shared language used by the previous two generations.
New hinge style and bezel reductions mark the first major chassis shift in years
The most noticeable update is the display lid, which now features a wide bar hinge instead of the traditional rounded style. Lenovo also reduced the screen bezels by approximately one millimeter on each side and replaced the previous bulge with a flat cover.

Rounded screen covers are now standard across the ThinkPad T series. The base of the laptop is about one millimeter thicker than before, but it retains its chamfered edges for a consistent aesthetic.
Lenovo has made several minor adjustments to the I/O and input components. Speaker holes have been reduced in size, ventilation openings are smaller, and the keyboard font has shifted from the ISO standard style to a centered design.
