ASUS Japan announced 20 new Chromebook models powered by the MediaTek Kompanio 540 SoC. The lineup includes the detachable ASUS Chromebook CM32 Detachable, and standard clamshell models: ASUS Chromebook CM14 and ASUS Chromebook CM15.
New detachable and clamshell models feature LPDDR5X-6400 memory
All models feature LPDDR5X-6400 memory with options for 4GB or 8GB, paired with eMMC storage in capacities of 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB depending on the specific model. The detachable CM32 features a 12.1-inch 2.5K touchscreen, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, an optional LTE module, and weighs approximately 620g for the tablet alone or 1,096g with its keyboard attached.
The standard clamshell CM14 includes a 14-inch Full HD display, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and weighs between 1.38kg and 1.43kg. The larger CM15 model offers a 15.6-inch Full HD display, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and weighs approximately 1.56kg.
Battery life is rated at over 12 hours across the entire lineup, with specific estimates ranging from roughly 12.7 hours for the CM32 to up to 16.2 hours for the CM14. Pricing ranges from ¥64,800 to ¥99,800 depending on the model and configuration.
Sales began in Japan starting May 22, 2026, with some models launching in mid-June 2026.
