IO Interactive has announced that the PlayStation 5 Pro version of its upcoming title, 007 First Light, will utilize PSSR 2.0 upscaling technology instead of AMD FSR 3.1.
IO Interactive integrated the upgraded algorithm in about one day without per-scene tuning.
The studio confirmed this technical shift in a recent update and noted that the integration process required only about one day without any per-scene tuning or special-case adjustments.
Developers stated that the upgraded algorithm delivered cleaner, more stable, and noticeably sharper image quality while substantially reducing shimmering and flickering artifacts across the entire game.
007 First Light will launch on May 27, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S and X, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version arriving sometime in Q3 of that year.
PC players using NVIDIA hardware can activate DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Frame Generation, though path tracing features are scheduled to arrive later in the summer.
