Awekeys has teased a new line of translucent metal keycaps for mechanical keyboards. The keycaps allow RGB lighting to pass through engraved legends, offering a distinctive look for custom builds.
Keycaps feature three engraving options
The keycaps are expected to be compatible with full-height MX-style mechanical switches and use a Cherry profile. The material is likely cupronickel combined with transparent plastic for the stem and engraving. Awekeys is considering three engraving directions: north-facing, south-facing, and side-printed.
A low-profile version may be released, but this has not been confirmed. The company has not announced a release date or pricing.
