Gamers Nexus and Louis Rossmann Take on Bambu Lab Over OrcaSlicer Fork

Bambu Lab has issued legal threats against Pawel Jarczak, the developer of a fork of the open-source OrcaSlicer software. The move has drawn sharp criticism from the hardware community.

Legal threats spark community support

Gamers Nexus and Louis Rossmann have stepped in to support Jarczak. Gamers Nexus pledged $10,000 for his legal defense and plans to replace its Bambu Lab printers with Prusa equipment. Louis Rossmann rehosted the code and publicly challenged Bambu Lab, saying, "Come after me too. You can sue us all."

Gamers Nexus said it chose Bambu Lab H2S machines for print quality but criticized the company's conduct, comparing it to : "The product quality is good, but the company is run by a**holes."

The dispute highlights tensions between proprietary hardware makers and the open-source community. Bambu Lab has not commented on the legal threats or the backlash.
