Plaion has started selling a white version of the ZX Spectrum, along with a Collector's Edition. The new models are available now in the UK.
White Edition includes joystick and Microdrive
The White Edition includes the 8-bit computer in white, an 8-button joystick controller, a Microdrive, a copy of Crash Magazine, an HDMI cable, a USB-C cable, and a quickstart guide. The Collector's Edition adds a printer, a Quickshot II 8-button controller, a gamepad controller, and a spiral-bound manual. Both versions come with 48 pre-loaded games, support for four save slots per game, and a rewind feature that lets players go back up to 40 seconds. The system can emulate the 16K, 48K, and 128K models of the original ZX Spectrum.
The White Edition is priced at 129 GBP (about $176) and is available to buy now. The Collector's Edition costs 229.99 GBP (about $313) and is available for pre-order, with shipping scheduled to begin on June 26.
The Spectrum is a modern re-creation of the classic 1980s home computer. It aims to offer a nostalgic experience with modern conveniences like HDMI output and USB-C power. The inclusion of multiple controllers and accessories in the Collector's Edition targets enthusiasts who want a complete retro setup.
