Apple iPhone 20 Glasswing Rumored to Feature Bezel-Less Design and Solid-State Buttons

Apple is reportedly targeting a September 2027 release for the iPhone 20, a device codenamed Glasswing. The smartphone will feature a completely bezel-less design that curves like a waterfall over all four edges. Apple aims to move every front-facing component, including the Face ID sensor, selfie camera, and earpiece, under the display to maintain an uninterrupted screen surface.

Tandem OLED panel and harder Ceramic Shield cover glass included

The device will abandon physical buttons in favor of a solid-state haptic side key system. This new input method relies on an ultra-low-power chip that keeps the buttons responsive even when the phone is powered off. The system has reportedly passed pressure-recognition tests while users wear gloves, use wet fingers, or operate the device in extreme temperatures. It also functions through official silicone cases.

Under the hood, the iPhone 20 Glasswing will utilize a tandem OLED display panel. Apple is also developing a harder version of its Ceramic Shield cover glass for the device. The phone will support reverse wireless charging. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman described the overall aesthetic as an iPhone X design on steroids.

Apple plans to release the iPhone 20 Glasswing globally in September 2027. iOS 26 will reportedly feature a Liquid Glass interface redrawn specifically to accommodate the curved geometry of the bezel-less screen. It remains unclear which of these rumored features will ultimately make it into mass production.
