Zotac released a custom GTX 1060 3GB with a vertical PCB and reversed interface layout for Saisosen AIO PCs, delivering standard gaming performance.

Zotac flips GTX 1060 3GB interface layout for niche AIO PC integration

Here comes a special GTX 1060 3GB design from Zotac, which defies the design rules! This interesting hardware seems to serve a niche market for All-in-One PC makers that require compact and specialized parts. It's a vertical PCB, along with the whole interface flipped upside-down to satisfy some special internal chassis constraints.

Vertical PCB and reversed connectors enable discrete GPU in tight chassis

This part is a custom Zotac GTX 1060 3GB for Saisosen's 32-inch AIO PC. Zotac designed the card with a longitudinal stacked PCB, so that it could adopt a standing figure within the constrained AIO chassis. With this specific design, it makes it possible to integrate the GPU into the system where regular horizontal expansion cards cannot be used.

Specifications

  • Model: Zotac Custom GTX 1060 3GB
  • Form Factor: Vertical/Longitudinal PCB
  • Target Platform: Saisosen 32-inch AIO PC
  • Interface Layout: Reversed PCIe and display ports
  • Power Connector: 6-pin at card bottom

Overall the card looks flipped from a regular graphics card design. The PCIe gold fingers is positioned in the display I/O bracket, while the display outputs have been re-positioned at the other end (where you normally see the PCIe slot). The card also has a 6-pin auxiliary power connector moved down to the bottom of the card. Everything is totally messed up when it comes to interface position for the custom internal wiring.

Performance-wise, the card behaves just like regular GTX 1060 3GB cards. For Battlefield 6, it manages an average of around 52 FPS at low settings with FSR on. Cyberpunk 2077 is an average of 54.4 FPS (low setting w/ FSR).

On The Witcher 3, it can go as high as 76 FPS. Meanwhile for CS2, it can go as high as 237 FPS (medium setting).

Zotac designed this special part to help with the integration issues they were facing on Saisosen 32-inch AIO PC. This flip-over interface and vertical setup is a trade-off that needs to be done to integrate a discrete GPU into the AIO. It offers the regular GTX 1060 3GB performance, but within the strict space constraints of the targeted system.
