A fan- made native PC port of P.T. reaches version 1.0.1, adding DLSS 4.5, FSR 3.1, ray tracing, and frame generation for over 200 FPS on RTX 40 Series.

Fan-made P.T. PC Port Reaches 200 FPS With DLSS Frame Generation

A fan-made native PC port of the legacy horror demo P.T. has reached version 1.0.1, bringing a decades-old experience to modern hardware without relying on emulators. This release matters because it finally allows players to use current-generation graphics features like frame generation and ray tracing on a title that was originally locked to the PlayStation 4. Players seeking to experience the title on a standard PC setup now have a functional, albeit unofficial, method to do so.

Native PC port of legacy PS4 demo enables modern upscaling and ray tracing

The project, developed by LoreanXavier, rebuilds the game logic in C++ and pairs it with a custom Vulkan renderer to ensure compatibility with systems. Users must provide their own PS4 game dump to run the port, as the developer does not distribute the original game assets. The update includes mod support, an experimental third-person mode, and a Loop Browser for navigating the game's environments.

Technical performance on a modest gaming laptop equipped with an Core i7-12700H and RTX 4060 Laptop GPU demonstrates the port's efficiency. The team reported regularly seeing over 100 FPS at 1080p Ultra settings when using DLSS Super Resolution in Quality mode. Enabling DLSS Frame Generation on the RTX 40 Series boosted frame rates to over 200 FPS during testing.

The port supports a wide range of upscaling technologies, including NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, FSR 3.1/4.1, and Intel XeSS, alongside native-resolution DLAA and FSR Native AA. Frame generation is available for NVIDIA RTX 40 Series GPUs via DLSS and for RX 5000 Series and newer GPUs via AMD FSR 3. Optional graphical upgrades include ray-traced shadows, ray-traced ambient occlusion, and ray-traced floor reflections.

Additional features in version 1.0.1 include Photo Mode, a Free Camera for exploration, experimental OpenXR VR support, and Game+ functionality. The release represents a significant technical achievement for the fan community, allowing the previously inaccessible title to operate smoothly on contemporary PC hardware. The port remains a free, community-driven project that requires user-provided game files.
