The Witcher 3 Remaster Adds Path Tracing and DLSS 4.5 in Free PC Update

PC gamers running NVIDIA RTX hardware can now experience significantly improved lighting and image quality in one of the most enduring role-playing games. CD PROJEKT RED released a free update that transforms The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt into a remastered edition on PC. The update introduces contemporary ray tracing capabilities to a landmark title that established genre conventions years ago. Players no longer need to buy a separate remaster version to access these visual upgrades.

Free update brings next-gen graphics to the classic RPG

The update introduces Path Tracing, DLSS 4.5, and HairWorks technologies to the game engine. NVIDIA and CD PROJEKT RED collaborated on this implementation to leverage RTX features for better performance and visuals. The remastered edition is now available globally on PC platforms. This free upgrade applies to existing owners, allowing them to enhance gameplay and graphics without additional cost.

Key technical additions include full Path Tracing for realistic light behavior and DLSS 4.5 for frame generation and upscaling.
