Fan project brings stable 60 FPS and modernized combat to the Steam version

The project targets the Steam release of the game and aims to create what the developers call the definitive version. The team restored the original GameCube cel-shaded art style that disappeared in later ports. This visual change returns the game to its initial aesthetic while fixing technical issues from subsequent releases.

The mod introduces Free Run movement, an Artes Ball system, and manual activation of Overlimits. Developers used an IDA MCP server to help identify code doublings that caused instability at higher frame rates. The team confirmed that AI assisted in finding these code errors but did not replace manual labor for the implementation.

The developers fixed over 100 bugs that appeared when enabling the 60 FPS target. These fixes address issues introduced across various ports of the game. The mod combines all previously available content into a single package running at the original frame rate standard.

The open beta is available globally on October 11. The team stated the goal was to remove bugs introduced across many ports while keeping all content. This release offers a stable way to play the game with modern performance standards.
