Ubisoft is changing how players team up in The Division 2 by introducing cross-play support later this month. This update matters because it removes platform barriers, allowing PC and console users to play together in the same instance. Players who have been waiting for a unified matchmaking pool can finally join friends regardless of their hardware choice.

Cross-play begins November 10 with PC players joining first

The studio is rolling out this feature in careful stages to ensure server stability before the full launch. The first phase begins on November 10, starting with PC players joining the cross-play ecosystem. Console players will follow in subsequent phases once Ubisoft confirms the system is running smoothly.

Alongside the network changes, a new downloadable content pack titled Echoes of Central Park arrives on November 3. This expansion costs $19.99 USD and introduces a horror-inspired atmosphere to the game's open world. The DLC also adds new endgame activities for players seeking fresh challenges.

New gameplay mechanics include the Corrosive Trap and Gas Bomber skill variants for tactical combat. Players can also acquire the Ratel exotic weapon, which adds a new tier of gear to the loot pool. These additions aim to refresh the endgame loop before the upcoming Season 4 content drop.

Ubisoft is also opening registration for a closed beta of The Division 2: Survivors, a hardcore extraction mode on PC. This separate project operates under a non-disclosure agreement and tests a different gameplay style. Meanwhile, Natalie Francis has taken over as Managing Director of Massive Entertainment, replacing Thomas Andrén.
