Redesigned installer improves navigation and localization
The operating system ships with Linux kernel 7.0 and GNOME 50 support. Octopi has been replaced with the Shelly package manager frontend. Xorg has been removed from the LiveCD, and the system now runs KDE Plasma with Wayland. xLibre replaces Xorg across the entire system. New CLI utilities include prism-clean, prism-update, prism-arch-check, and prism-rate-mirrors. The website has been fully redesigned.
The ISO is 2.5 GB in size. Minimum memory requirement is 2 GB, with 8 GB recommended. Minimum storage is 30 GB. The release is available worldwide as of May 5, 2026.
The update marks a significant shift away from Xorg and toward Wayland and xLibre. The replacement of Octopi with Shelly and the addition of new command-line tools aim to streamline system management.
