This release matters because it introduces a precise frame rate cap for Remote Play and expands hardware compatibility for third-party controllers. Remote Play users can now select 59.94 FPS as an optional streaming frame rate limit, offering a smoother visual experience for compatible displays. The Steam Controller gyroscope calibration threshold has been reduced to 50% of its original value to minimize false triggers during gameplay. New controller support includes the Nintendo Switch PDP Afterglow Wave in both wired and wireless modes, as well as the Nintendo Switch 2 Turtle Beach controller.

Steam Machine owners will notice new certification details displayed directly within game capsules and the main library view. A dedicated section labeled 'Excellent Device Compatibility' now appears in the library to highlight optimized titles.
