Square Enix Patches Final Fantasy Tactics With New Game Plus Mode

The latest version of Final Fantasy Tactics introduces New Game Plus mode, allowing players to carry over unit levels and item data into fresh playthroughs. Square Enix also added a Zodiac Compatibility feature that helps check how effective units are against each other in battle. The update brings quality-of-life improvements including the ability to remove all equipped items at once and guaranteed success for Ability Incantations.

Patch 1.5 introduces New Game Plus and quality of life improvements across PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.

Square Enix has updated Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles with Patch 1.5 across PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch platforms. This software update targets the tactical role-playing game originally based on the War of the Lions version. Players can now access localized text in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean.

The patch retains content exclusive to the earlier War of the Lions release. Fan-favorite Dark Knight and Onion Knight job classes are still not included in the game, even though players have requested them. This patch prioritizes gameplay mechanics and quality-of-life improvements over introducing new narrative content or visual assets.

There are no plans to raise the cost of the current version of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. Square Enix has indicated that Patch 1.5 will be the final major update for the game, with no additional large-scale content expansions on the horizon.
