MSI released BIOS updates for Intel 600, 700, and 800 series motherboards to support HUDIMM memory modules. The update makes MSI the last of the four major Taiwanese motherboard makers to add HUDIMM support.
HUDIMM uses single 32-bit channel
HUDIMM uses a single 32-bit channel instead of the dual 64-bit channels found in standard DDR5 UDIMMs. This design reduces the number of DRAM chips per module, lowering manufacturing cost.
MSI stated that the BIOS ensures HUDIMM works out of the box with no manual configuration needed. Users can simply install the modules and boot up.
When we covered the last Intel 600/700/800 series motherboards update, several of the same balance and stability themes came up. The BIOS is now available for download from MSI's support page.
