The retailer PC One specifically addresses large triple-fan graphics cards that occupy three or four expansion slots. These massive units rely on rear case brackets and motherboard PCIe slots for mounting, which provides only two-point support at the far ends of the card.

Large graphics cards typically use substantial cooling assemblies and compact circuit boards to house powerful processing units. The retailer notes that this concentrated weight creates stress points along the circuit board when unsupported.

Manufacturers have responded by adding anti-sag brackets or sensors like ASUS Level Sense to detect tilt angles. These accessories prevent the card from bending downward and protect the PCIe connection from mechanical failure.

The warning applies to any high-end gaming GPU with a large cooling solution. Individuals modifying cooling setups must ensure that alternative mounting methods provide sufficient structural reinforcement to prevent component strain.
