Keychron K3 HE Keyboard Launches with Low-Profile Magnetic Switches

Keychron announced early sales of the K3 HE and K3 Ultra keyboards on June 10, 2026. The company launched both models through a Makuake crowdfunding campaign in Japan. This initiative introduces two distinct low-profile designs that target different typing preferences.

The K3 HE model features ultra-fast lime magnetic switches for rapid response. It supports adjustable actuation points ranging from 0.2 to 2.9 millimeters. The K3 Ultra version uses milk POM mechanical switches available in linear, tactile, and banana variants.

Spec comparison

Both keyboards share a compact 75% layout with function keys and arrow keys. They measure 318.62mm wide by 126mm deep and weigh approximately 575 grams. The aluminum body pairs with a natural wood frame for structural support.

Connectivity options include tri-mode Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, and wired connections. The K3 HE achieves a 1,000Hz polling rate on wireless or wired links, while the K3 Ultra reaches 8,000Hz under the same conditions. Both models drop to 125Hz when connected via Bluetooth.

Battery life claims depend heavily on backlight usage settings. The K3 HE provides up to 55 hours of operation without backlighting. The K3 Ultra extends this duration significantly to 550 hours with the lights disabled.

Pricing starts at 16,200 JPY for the K3 HE and 14,900 JPY for the K3 Ultra in Japan. These figures represent approximately $101 and $92.96 respectively based on current exchange rates. The campaign period runs until July 30, 2026.
